Marcus and Elizabeth Wassmer

I never knew Marcus, because he died in 1910. My dad said that he had been out in the field working one day, and was very hot. When he got back to the house, he went down into the damp root cellar, got a chill which turned into pneumonia, and died. Aunt Lizzie and her two daughters lived on Bell Avenue in Evansville, about two miles from our house, by the time I could remember them. Clara and Victoria each had their own house, just a few doors away from each other. We would visit them occasionally, and my dad kept in touch especially by phone.
