This fish is based on a fish on the Proteus Mardi Gras float.

Several years ago, we had large fish, made of fiber glass, on stands all around the Central Business District here in New Orleans. Like the pigs in Cincinnati, and I think it was buffalo some place else. The original fiber glass fish were given out to local artists, and each one was to do their own thing. I don't have pictures of them, but they were similar to these. After being on display for a year, they were auctioned off, and the money went to some charitable group. So I made a policeman, a teacher, and a bike rider.
